Well the check for problems info_player_start is not needed for the cs:s source engine, so dont worry about that, however, you need to compile your map first, make sure you map does not have any leaks, to compile press F9 for shortcut and make sure everything is on Normal Mode and HDR is unchecked and click Ok. You already configured Hammer to save your compiled maps into your cstrike/maps folder, so thats taken care of. Your .vmf file, you can save that anywhere you like, but when you compile it compiles into your maps folder for you, then run game to test your map.

Finally, a topic I can help with! There is a program called Vmex that is used for decompiling source maps. It is a .jar file but you run it exactly like a .exe. The only thing you need to run this is the latest version of Java installed on your computer. Link to Vmex: files.filefront.com/vmexjar/;8133544;;/fileinfo.htmlLink to Java: www.java.com

Very nice Blaze, howerver you forgot one last link: nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=26That is the hyperlink to GCFScape. What this program does, you open whats called the GCF file in your SteamApps folder. All the videogames maps, scripts, materials, etc are withheld in the GCF file. As you may notice in your SteamApps the files GCF. If you was to double click them they would say something like: Open this file using internet explorer. . . GCFScape allows you to open that file and view its contents. The program becomes very useful wanting to learn more, another words, you can take the map cs_office or de_dust2 and decompile that .bsp format and view its contents in hammer.
