A formal tutorial on how to make a window and making the glass break:
First I made my window frame:
Next I clicked on Browse for textures and typed in nodraw as shown:
Now with this texture I outlined where I wanted my glass to be as shown, here I made 2 different parts for the top part of the frame and the bottom part of the frame, thus making 2 nodraws for my frame:
Now I deselect everything and click on the Toggle Application Tool, right underneith the Block tool and a window opens up:
* * * Now with this open, where it says Mode; towards the bottom right, click it and choose Apply (texture only) and next click on the Browse in the current window and type in "glass" and choose a desired texture, here I used the texture glass/glasswindow070c
Now with this selected, and your Toggle Application Window is open, in your 3-D camera view, * *Click on only the 1 side brush face as shown:
So the rest of the brush faces should be nodraw:
Now we have our glass finished, as well as our window frame, now we have to tie to entity (ctrl + t). For the Entity class type in func_breakable as shown and for the keyvalue: Strength type in 60 for its health, unless you want a dull force put on the glass, leave it at 1:
The last pic we only did the top glass as a func_breakable, now for the bottom glass do the exact same entity functions as the last:
Now we successfully made our glass and window frame, here I am grouping (optional) the brushes together so it will be easier to select the brushes, if you group and need to ungroup you can right click in the wireframe views and click ungroup or you can click the "ig" button at the top close to the toolbar:
That should be it, if I had forgotten anything, I will update it =D
