Sorry if this has already been addressed, but if I save a file from Hammer it becomes a .vmf (valve map file I think). For CSS to run it it needs to be a .bmp (no idea what it stands for). How do I make it from a .vmf to a .bmp? I hear i have to compile it but i dont see such an option in hammer... Thanks in advance

First of all, save the vmf to somewhere you can find it.
Then go into file->run map - or just press f9. Make sure everything is set to 'normal' and the Don't run game after compiling box is ENABLED. Press ok, and you'll get a message window up with lots of text scrolling. When it's done, you should see a 'copy to clipboard' option. You should now have a .bsp file at the same location as your .vmf file - given that there were no errors in your map.

sorry for the late reply-
but also, if the map doesn't work properly, suggestions are the map didn't compile right, making the map not work or glitchy
post your compile log, I'll check it out.
